Our preschool program is a Christ-centered environment based on current educational research and best practices. We strive to offer multi-sensory activities to promote literacy and number sense and to meet the unique needs of the children.
Thematic units are planned and taught to provide many hands-on opportunities for physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth. Preschool students will plant a garden, paint, pray, laugh, play ball, create, make friends, use their imagination, sing and dance, explore books, run, share, climb, conduct experiments, and develop a love of learning. The curriculum is aligned with the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood Education and includes Kid Writing, Second Step Social-Emotional Learning Program and a specialized religious program.
Mrs. Bair has dedicated her entire teaching career, which began in 1984, to the children and families of St. Joseph School and was honored to receive the Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of Harrisburg in 2008. Mrs. Waser, her assistant has been teaching at St. Joseph School since 2014.
